Facters that Interfere with Comprehensive Patient Care in Family Practice


Abstract
This study aimed to highlight barriers to the implmentation of biopsychosocial and comprehensive care, and challenge physicians to examine their hidden beliefs about patient care and their approach to patients with increased underatanding of effective alternatives. A questionnaire was used and analyzed to investigate the barriers of comprehensive patient care on 22 residents of family medicine of a university hospital.
The results from these data were as follows ;
1. Shortness of time and patient loading.
2. Influence of medical school education.
3. Lack of effective medical training contents.
4. Defense mechanism of phisician¢¥s problems.
In the light of this study, the auther suggest that education for family physician increase psychosocial training contents and assess the relevance of their contents.
At the same time, medical schools should increase the time spent on the psychological education of the medical students to ensure the use of psychological skills by non-psychiatric physicians.
